Four Engine Options

The Sierra 1500 offers four different engines, two transmission options, and RWD or AWD. With so many choices, it’s easier than ever to pick the right combination that works best for you. All four engine choices use either an eight-speed or ten-speed automatic transmission. The standard engine is a 2.7L 4-cyl that produces 310 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. Next in size is the 3.0L 6-cyl Turbo Diesel that supplies 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque.

If you need more engine power to tackle the toughest jobs, the available 5.3L V8 Gasoline engine pushes out 355 hp and 385 lb-ft of torque. Finally, the 6.2L V8 supplies 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. In addition, this engine is capable of Dynamic Fuel Management. This system makes calculations every 80 seconds, allowing you to increase or reduce the number of cylinders used and save fuel when not carrying or towing heavy loads.

Carrying and Towing Capacity

Carrying capacity varies depending on your bed and cabin selections. You can choose from single cab, double cab, or crew cab, and bed lengths from 5.8 to 8.2 feet length. If you want your truck to specialize in carrying cargo, it can move up to 2,530 pounds in the bed.

Towing capacity also varies based on your engine choice, varying from 9,500 pounds with the 2.7L engine to 13,200 pounds with the 6.2L. The Trailering Package is standard or available, depending on your trim choice. It includes a hitch platform and trailer hitch, a 2″ receiver hitch with 4 and 7-pin connectors, a 7-wire electrical harness, and a 7-pin sealed connector to connect the trailer brakes and lights to your Sierra.

Pro Safety is a suite of advanced driver assistance and safety features that protect you on the road. Accidents can happen anywhere, and it’s often impossible for a driver to spot all potentially dangerous situations.
