Strong Output and Versatility

The 2026 Sierra 1500’s four engines are all impressive, with lower trims (Pro, Elevation, and SLE) coming standard with a powerful 2.7-liter I-4 that delivers 310 horsepower thanks to an integrated turbocharger. Intermediate trims (SLT and Denali) offer increased output if you should need it with their 355-horsepower 5.3-liter V8.


The upscale Denali Ultimate trim offers the most horses with its 6.2-liter V8, which generates 420 horsepower, and the fourth engine is a turbocharged 305-horsepower 3.0-liter diesel I-6 that’s found on some of the more rugged trims (AT4 and AT4X). Both the 6.2-liter V8 and diesel I-6 provide a 13,000-pound maximum towing capacity when the vehicle’s fully equipped.
